The Ocean Club, awarded the 2007 MetroBravo Award from Metro Magazine's readers, is one of the top rated resorts and spas in North Carolina. The Carteret County Chamber of Commerce recognized The Ocean Club's preservation efforts throughout the community to maintain the coastal quality of the area and awarded them the Award of Merit for Development.
Builders and architects carved the illustrious resort out of the lush maritime forest and environment surrounding the area. The designers also maintained a look reminiscent of early Charlestonian architecture, with each villa's open living space complementing the magnificent indigenous wildlife entwined throughout the resort. Each villa offers one to three bedrooms and two bathrooms. You'll find some of the most incredible views of the waterway on the large, private decks. Villas also come standard with well equipped kitchens and washers and dryers. The Ocean Club Fitness Center
Any non-owner who pays the yearly membership fee at the Ocean Club, and all owners and their guests currently residing in a villa on our community have complimentary membership to the Ocean Club fitness center. When you rent a villa through Ocean Club Luxury Rentals, the on-site rental agency, you also enjoy membership to the fitness center free of charge.
You'll find some of the most up-to-date work out equipment in the fitness center houses. The latest in vitality equipment is also available. As a guest, you'll have your own combination to the center so you are free to come and go as you please. However, please respect the rules of the center; all guests 18 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Also, please don't bring young children. There are many other entertaining activities throughout the resort that are more appropriate.
Please be sure to wear proper attire when working out, such as close fitting clothing and closed-toe shoes. To protect your safety, you are required to wear such attire when you are in the center or attending one of the fitness center's classes.
A wide range of classes are available to accommodate every skill level and interest. Group exercise classes are available to villa guests who are over the age of 16 years old. Please respect others while attending these classes. Note that reservations are required. Contact the reception desk at the spa for the complete listing of fees and classes offered. The classes range from yoga and pilates to aqua aerobics and aqua dancing.
Other courses offered are spinning, low impact aerobics, stretching and dancing. If you prefer to exercise alone but want some help, look for private exercise sessions in 2008. The best physical trainers team up with you to provide private lessons and develop a personalized work out plan focusing on your goals and needs. Theses sessions must be booked ahead. These sessions are also only offered during the Ocean Club health and wellness retreats.
Sunset Pier
If fishing is more your type of sport, take a trip to Sunset Pier and discover this beautiful addition to the Ocean Club resort's sound front living. Access the well kept waters of the Bogue Sound and join other swimmers, anglers and boaters who enjoy spending quality one-on-one time on the water.
